AT&T: soldier sentenced for hacking telecoms, stealing data on 100M+ customers
A U.S. Army soldier pleaded guilty to hacking multiple telecommunications companies and stealing mobile call and text metadata for more than 100 million AT&T customers in 2024. He was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison and ordered to pay nearly $300,000 in restitution to victims, which included AT&T and Verizon.
