Denmark CPR registry: breach exposes personal data of 8.8 million people

Unauthorized parties used a company's access credentials to harvest records on about 8.8 million people from Denmark's national citizen registry over roughly 10 days in September. The activity was discovered on October 2, and Denmark is reviewing security controls around the registry. People with protected names and addresses were not affected.
