Telecom MSP: Fortinet flaws exploited to deploy PEERSTITCH malware on FortiGate firewalls
Unit 42 researchers report attackers breached a telecommunications managed service provider's FortiManager appliance by exploiting Fortinet vulnerabilities, then deployed the stealthy PEERSTITCH implant inside FortiGate processes. The intrusion exposed configurations and sensitive data tied to more than 500 managed FortiGate devices. The victim organization is not named and has not issued a statement.
